The Academy for the Gifted is a nonprofit agency providing mentoring programs through MUSIC for elementary, middle and high school youth in the Gastonia area located at St Stephens AME Zion Church 201 W. Franklin Blvd Gastonia NC 28052
Our Vision and Mission:
To provide a "one Stop" faculty to educate and inspire a passion for music and arts that will leave a mark in children, youth and adult lives that can never be erased. We seek to forge strategic partnerships with visionaries, schools, youth organizations, music stores, professionals, community agencies, and churches that share our vision and goals. We promote our collective spiritual, social and economic responsibility to ensure that our children, youth, and adults live full and meaningful lives. Then, we pass the torch as their legacy to pass on!
At The Academy of the Gifted we offer each child an opportunity to explore, create, and learn how to play guitar, drums, and piano through private and group instruction. We also offer music production, which teaches them how to use computers and music software (Reasons, Logic, Pro tools) to create musical masterpieces. While creating beats and sounds we use the power of music technology to teach counting, discipline, integrity, and build self-esteem in achievement. Through our network of instructors we also offer modeling, drama, acting and dance for those interested in the none instrumental aspect of the arts.
